Alexandra Easton
I am a multimedia artist with a BFA in studio art from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. I have always loved the idea that play is at the core of creativity for us artists. When I work on a project, I let the chosen medium and subject matter of the piece inform what kind of play is needed. As children, we play and create as a way to process or explore what is on our minds and hearts and I don’t think that stops as we get older but we tend to lose the freedom of playing with our art in order to get there. My work, no matter the style, medium, subject, or end goal, is all grounded in the exploratory nature of play which keeps my work authentic and my mind open to new possibilities. My overall goal for my work is to create ways for people to find human connection with one another, between them and the work, or to inspire them to explore creativity themselves.
